Cape Agulhas is a rocky headland in the Western Cape, South Africa. The official dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, it is also the geographic southern tip of Africa. The Boland, meaning "top country" or "land above" is a region situated to the northeast of Cape Town in the middle and upper courses of the Berg and Breede Rivers, around the mountains of the central Cape Fold Belt. It is sometimes also referred to as the Cape Winelands because it is the primary region for the making of Western Cape wine. Although the Boland does not have defined boundaries, its core lies around the towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Worcester. The Garden Route is a popular stretch of the south-eastern coast. It stretches from Heidelberg in the Western Cape to the Storms River in the extreme western reach of the neighbouring Eastern Cape.

Helderberg is a wine-producing area originally known as the 'Hottentots-Holland' area. However, many people who live there still refer to it by its former name. Hout Bay is the name of this coastal suburb which hosts a mix of neighbourhoods from the very rich to the

Knysna is part of the Garden Route and the town is primarily built on the northern shore of a large warm-water estuary, fed by the Knysna River.
The estuary opens to the ocean after passing between two large
headlands. These are popularly known as "The Heads", and have become

Kuils River, originally De Cuylen, was a post of the Dutch East India Company.
It developed into a village during the 18th century and attained

Langebaan is a town on the eastern shore of the well known Langebaan Lagoon. The Lagoon stretches for 17km from Saldanha Bay, past Langebaan to Geelbek in the South. Paarl is the third oldest town and European settlement in the Republic of South Africa (after Cape Town and Stellenbosch) and the largest town in the Cape Winelands. This area was founded by Johann Heinrich Ferdinand Parow who arrived to the locality in 1865. During a great storm in Table Bay, 19 ships were stranded. After being stranded, Captain Parow settled down in the Cape of Good Hope
and married Johanna Wilhelmina Timmerman, the daughter of the family
that helped Captain Parow after being stranded on the Cape coast. Parow quickly realised the potential value of the Tyger Valley area
north of Cape Town and that the area held great opportunities for cattle

Somerset West
Somerset West is situated in the Helderberg area. The town is overlooked by the Helderberg (meaning "clear mountain"), a part of the Hottentots-Holland range of mountains. The land was initially bought from local people and a cattle post was established here by Dutch soldiers in 1672. The Helderberg Nature Reserve,
a natural wildlife preserve opened in 1964, contains a wide
variety of smaller fauna (buck, tortoises and other reptiles) and

Southern Suburbs
The Southern Suburbs includes Rondebosch, Claremont, Plumstead, Ottery, Wynberg, Newlands, Constantia and Bishopscourt, and to some aspects Pinelands and Observatory too. Some of these areas provide the most desirable places to live in for access to both the Cape Town CBD and the lure of the coast on the Fish Hoek and Simonstown side or across the way towards Clifton and Camps Bay. Stellenbosch
Strand
Strand is a seaside resort town situated on the eastern edge of False Bay and at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains. Strand's main attraction is the beach; 5 km of white sandy beach lapped by the waters of False Bay. Surfing is a popular water sport in Strand and, along with the relaxed
atmosphere, forms an integral part of the beach culture of the town.
